A biggie - no time to blog!
If you can't spare at least 10-15 minutes several times per month, anything you post is likely not going to obtain much of a following.
Another - no news or views to blog about!
Folks like to be 'up-to-date' in their fields of interest, and if you don't have anything of interest happening, they'll soon stop visiting or won't subscribe to your 'feed' (i.e. an automated notification of a new blog entry).
And - no easy way to create or maintain a blog.
No one wants to have to learn how to code HTML or build a blog capability in PHP; things should be easy or they won't get done!
